The Recfishing Research website has been created to provide information on the latest research into recreational fishing and fisheries in Australia on subjects that have been identified as national priorities.

While many researchers and fisheries managers in government agencies are aware of how to access research information many recreational fisheries are not. Even if they are aware of research information it is often written to be understood by other researchers rather than recreational fishers. Often the information is important and part of the role of this website is to provide research information in an easy to read and understand format. This is largely through the use of simple fact sheets to provide the key information however some video material is also available to assist in getting the messages across.
 

Under Research Subjects we have provided some detail on the national research priorities including the planned outcome, significance of the issue, what has been done and what we are trying to achieve through Recfishing Research. Material on this site is factually based on the latest information available where we are aware of the latest research. As new information becomes available we will update the fact sheets or information on that issue.
